GLORIA PRUDDEN LANGE May 29, 2009 - Palm Beach, Florida Gloria Lange (née Gloria Noel Prudden) was born December 24, 1929. She was the daughter of Paul Peter and Alice Marie (Rorick) Prudden. She graduated from Westover School in Middlebury, Connecticut and attended Vassar College. She later completed a course of study at the New York School for Interior Design. Gloria grew up in Palm Beach, Florida and Perrysburg, Ohio and raised her children in Greenwich, Connecticut. Gloria was pre-deceased by her husband of 27 years, J. Carvel (Jack) Lange. In recent years she returned to live in Palm Beach. Gloria was a talented watercolor artist, sculptor and gardener. She was an avid bridge player and book lover, and always finished the Sunday New York Times crossword. She was strong, independent, and loved to throw a good party. One of her favorite places on earth was Wyoming and she and her family regularly gathered at Eaton's Ranch where she still galloped her horse. Most of all, Gloria gave a lifetime of generosity to friends, family and deserving causes. Gloria is survived by her daughter and her husband, Caryn (Cluett) Gregg and Rob of Berkeley, California, daughter Christina Gorham Cluett of Santa Barbara, California and son David Grenfell Cluett, Jr. of Greenwich, Connecticut. Gloria was appropriately named ìGoGoî by her grandchildren, Stephanie (Bruno) Geoffrion of Redondo Beach, California, Robyn (Mauro Rubina) Gregg of Berkeley, California, James Gregg of San Francisco, California and Skylar Cluett of Greenwich, Connecticut. GoGo also has a new great-grandson, Noa Geoffrion. She was devoted to all of her many nieces and nephews and is also survived by her dear friend and mother-in-law, Helen Cluett. The family is planning a memorial service at Christ Church In Greenwich, Connecticut later in the summer. Contributions in her memory may be made to The Society of the Four Arts where her life's passions flourish.
