Harold Zeide Obituary

Family-Placed Obituary

Dr. HAROLD J. ZEIDE Harold J. Zeide, M.D., age 94, passed away on December 10, 2011 in Florida of natural causes. His zest for life, thirst for knowledge, sense of humor, and concern for others will always be remembered. More important, he was a caring, loving, brilliant, modest, and honest gentleman who loved to do mitzvahs. A graduate of Chicago Medical School, he practiced in Brooklyn, NY for over 54 years as a general practitioner delivering babies, setting broken bones, and making house calls. He became Board Certified in Family Practice; he was beloved by all —his patients, family, and friends. His was a Master Magician, loved the opera, and pursued a zeal for excellence in all aspects of life. He is a direct descendent of the Shpoler Zeide, an 18th century Russian Jewish Rabbi and philosopher. He leaves behind his wife Stella, married for 66 years; his children, Dr. Michael Zeide, Susan Schaller, Dr. Donna Zeide Kener, Janet Liebowitz; his in-laws, Denise Zeide, Dr. Stephen Schaller, Morris Kener, and Dr. Jay Liebowitz; his eight grandchildren, Elana, David (wife Annette), Robert, Jeffrey, Hillary, Andrew, Jason, Kenny; and his great-grandson, Noah. Shiva will be held at the house of Dr. Donna Zeide Kener in PGA National, Florida. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Chicago Medical School or any Jewish charity.
