Family-Placed Obituary
HOWARD MINSKY 94, Oscar nominated producer of the ground breaking motion picture 'Love Story', died on Sunday, August 10, 2008 of natural causes at his home in Palm Beach, Florida. Prior to producing 'Love Story', Minsky had been a William Morris agent representing major motion picture properties and personalities. His career spanned several decades during which he rose rapidly to executive positions with 20th Century-Fox and Paramount Pictures. In 2006 Minsky completed and published his memoir, 'The Love of My Life', describing the story of his life with his late wife of 65 years, Sylvia. At the time of his death he completed a new screenplay romance centered on the sophisticated world of Palm Beach. Personally and through his foundation, Minsky supported secular, medical and Jewish organizations and he and his wife funded programs for Jewish education in Palm Beach and Los Angeles. He is survived by his daughter Marcia Halperin of Los Angeles; son Barry Minsky of New York; and three grandchildren, Craig and Leon Halperin, and Joshua Minsky. The funeral takes place on Wednesday, August 13, 2PM at Royal Palm Memorial Gardens, West Palm Beach. Rabbis Elliot Spar and Richard Chapin and Cantor Paul Offenkrantz will officiate. production of Love Story?
WEEP NOT FOR ME

It is with a heavy heart I say goodbye to my Rotarian brother. He embodied the Rotarian motto of "Service above Self" in every aspect of his life. I will always cherish the chats we had during our weekly morning meetings. He was a great man and we will all miss him.

Howard,
I have so enjoyed knowing you and talking with you about your life in show biz and other things. You always had a smile and a big hug for me when I saw you in Temple. We had a great time when we went to Israel with our families and our Rabbi with the Temple Israel trip several years ago. I remember you said you wanted to plant a tree in Israel and you did! You had such a zest for life, and touched so many people and did so much good for others. You will be greatly missed by all of us.
