Dr. Zieper was a remarkable, kind and dedicated physician, a role model for students and residents, a superb teacher, and iconoclastic thinker.
He was the Chief of the Divisions of Neurology at the Faulkner and Lemuel Shattuck Hospitals. On-call 24/7, no matter the time of day or weather outside, we could depend on Dr. Zieper to arrive for expert consultations for our patients.
When a special individual passes, it is sometimes said that, "after he was born, they broke the mold." Dr. Irving Zieper was one of those rare individuals. I am grateful to have had the privilege to be his colleague and friend.

I was a patient of Dr Zieper from 1982 until he retired. He always talked proudly about his family. I am sorry for loss. He will be missed.

Dr. Zeiper was my neurologist at the Faulkner Hospital for many years, until he left Faulkner. He was extremely proficient, patient, and caring. He was truly irreplaceable.

Dr. Zieper was my neurologist for many years at the Faulkner Hospital. He was a caring, compassionate and excellent physician. I fondly remember Rissy as well.

I was a medical resident at the Faulkner and later worked at the Shattuck Hospital as a staff physician . For years, Dr. Zieper was my "go to" neurologist. He always was available, reassuring and advised me on exactly what to do. He was a wonderful doctor and mentor. I've never met anyone who could replace him. Suzanne Salamon
