Jacob KOSOWSKY

KOSOWSKY, Jacob Jacob Kosowsky, 21, of Boca Raton, died unexpectedly on Thursday October 18, 2018. Jacob embraced all that life had to offer, loving most of all his family, friends, the ocean, the mountains and anything to do with fishing. A graduate of Boca Raton High School, class of 2016, Jacob was a high achiever and excelled in academics, debate, wrestling, weightlifting and Youth Court. He went onto Vanderbilt University, where his sister Mia joined him a year later and was studying Public Policy and Quantitative Methods. At Vanderbilt, Jacob served as resident advisor helping students navigate college life and was an admired member of Zeta Beta Tau Fraternity. Jacob's strength of character was revealed in his gentleness and his generosity of spirit. Concerned for the underdog, Jacob founded the Crusades for Justice Fund and made meaningful contributions to the Borgon Project where he interned. Jacob was unquestioningly one of the smartest, sweetest boys who, as he became a young man, inspired many. As he strived to understand the nuances of our complicated world, Jacob eagerly shared with others a kind word, sage advice or a genuine hug. Jacob's love of the ocean and the mountains speaks beautifully to the way he supported his friends in need he was connected to the depths of their souls and he lifted them up by spreading joy in everyday life. Jacob was the beloved son of Sharilyn Jones and Steven Kosowsky, devoted brother of Mia, adored grandson of Howard and Merele Kosowsky, Edward Jones and the late Marina Jones, Peggy Shotton, cherished nephew of David Kosowsky (Connie), Ross Fiddler (Matilda), Michael Fiddler, Janna Veneziano (Chris), Mike Jones (Mary), David Jones (Robert), Gary Jones (Brenda), Walter Jones (Patti), Colleen Jones, Allison Larson (Phil), Melanie Jones (Trish), Tommy Jones (Cristina), Rhonda Olson (Craig). Jacob leaves many cousins who treasured and held him in the highest esteem. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday October 26, 10:30AM at Temple Beth El, 333 SW 4th Ave. in Boca Raton. A reception will immediately follow. In Jacob's honor, we ask that you dress in celebration of his spiritcasual Florida/Hawaiian style. In lieu of flowers, donations to Vanderbilt University's programs in Public Policy Studies or Quantitative Methods, the Vanderbilt chapter of the Zeta Beta Tau Foundation, or any of the many charities devoted to protecting the ocean are appreciated.
