Memories and Condolences
for Jacob Zweig

Not sure what to say?

May 16, 2012

going on four years and I still miss this man. there will always be a hole in my heart that will never be filled. if there's something after this crazy thing we call "life," i hope you are happy and i hope to see you again some day. i love you and miss you so much and not a day goes by that i dont think of you. sometimes i catch myself smiling for no reason and then i realize it's because i'm thinking of a memory of you. RIP my brother

Jacob,

You were the most amazing human being to ever populate this earth. The day i met you i knew i couldn't picture my life without you. The day i found out you were gone, my heart skipped a beat. I knew from that day forward my life will forever be dented. I wish so badly that you could still be here with me, but life has its own plans. Someone up there really needed you, which i completely understand because who wouldn't want to be surrounded by your love? I will never forget you and the memories we shared. I wish that i did not only have memories to refer to, i wish i had the real thing. Always know that we all miss you more than words can describe, and the pain we all feel is so deep. Your family misses you everyday. I speak to your mom at least once a week. Without her i wouldn't be holding myself together. She is one amazing person and i idolize her strength. Im so glad i have her by my side whenever i need her. Im not really sure if life after this one is actually real or if its just a myth, but i really hope you're living it up up there, because you really deserve the best. its your turn to live your life and be happy instead of putting everyone else before you. Remember that we all love you and with every laugh, we're all still dying a little inside without you. I hope i see you again one day, until then, your spirit lies within me, forever in my heart. i love you jacob samuel

Harlene, Murray, and family,
Sol and I do NOT know what to say to you because nothing can be said at this time. No one can ever express anything to help ease the pain. The only way Sol and I know to do something is to give charity to an organization that means the most to all of you. The past cannot be undone but there can be a better future for other young people, the same wonderful experiences that Jacob had. Please send me that information when you are ready.

Dear Murray, Harlene, Alicia and Zachary, I am sad to hear this bad news, Jacob is a good young man who did not deserve anything bad in his life. But.. life is not fair and we All must deal with the cards dealt. Everyone has problems and its the people who can take a negative and turn into a positive are the TRUE winners in this World. Somehow I feel this tragic incident will serve to remind others how precious life is and that we should all respect each other, beliefs and embrace diversity. I will never forget Jacob's smile and how he and the other kids use to wrestle and tackle me in the yard before the family dinners. Jacob will be missed but not forgotten here in my heart and the Mars Museum. I love you Jacob Samuel Zweig. Your Uncle

Dear Zweig family,
I am sending my deepest condolences, and I am so sorry for your loss. I came to the church today, everyone was crying and my mother and I just could not stop and still cannot. I really never knew him but ,I remember when Alicia and I were in brownies together and my mother was brownie leader when he was just a little boy , I still remember his smile and always will. He reminds me of myself in a way. It’s too hard to write what you feel into words. All I can say is god bless your family and he’s in a better place now so the angels up in heaven can watch him now. He’s always looking down on you from heaven like the song. When I hear that song I will always think of him. Be strong and keep each other close for support.
Sincerely, Alyshia Rebecca Rego

Jacob,
whenever i think about you i think about your smile. it could light up a room. everytime i passed you in the hallways at school you would smile at me and i would just start smiling and right from there i couldnt stop smiling. i could be having the worst day and that smile of yours would turn it all around. as amazing as your smile was that wasnt the only amazing thing about you. you had such a great personality and were friends with everyone. you would be surprised to see how many people are affected by this and how many lives you have touched. you certainly have made a difference in mine. im glad to say that i knew you at all and i feel so honored to have memories of you that i can keep with me forever. i have been crying for days now and i cant seem to stop. i wish you were here but i know your in a better place and i know that where ever you are you will do great things. i also know that i will see again someday but until then, keep heaven shining with your smile.
r.i.p. you will forever be in our hearts.

To All Who Are Touched by Jacob's passing,
My son reminded me of the boy who used to do a dance after landing a basket in Parkland's Basketball program. I cry as I think of this horrible loss and of all the memories that Jacob will no longer make or share. So many young people, my son included, are shaken to the core from losing Jacob, but they have been sharing stories and laughter as they fondly remember him. I read a quote once that said the true measure of a man is how many people have called him friend. Jacob's measure is enormous. This tragedy is unspeakable. I wish you all strength as you struggle ahead in life without Jacob. We offer our deepest sympathy.
