A life well lived! I often thought that as I taught with Jo at Palm Beach Atlantic University and later when she retired, but it was confirmed by the touching remarks of Jo's children at her memorial service. Even when she was at Allegro in the Memory Care Unit did she comment, "I am the luckiest woman in the world." She showed me how to grow old gracefully, also. Well done, my good and faithful friend. May you rest in peace, Jo.

Jo was a blessing in my life. She was my professor who inspired me, who taught me to love Shakespeare and Henry James. She was also my friend. I learned so much from her. Jo was engaging, gracious, and wise. I have always aspired to be the kind of teacher she was. It was a joy to be in her classroom. I am very thankful to have known her.

Besides being a talented, intellectually gifted, productive and very interesting individual, Jo Turk was also a wonderful friend, especially to our mother, Sue Rickett, during her final days. Jo was a beautiful lady on the inside and out, and I am so sorry my sisters and I were out of town and unable to attend her services, for the quality of life she created while she was earthbound was indeed worth celebrating. My regards and sympathy to the entire Turk family.

She is the last of the great North End mothers. Her moral compass was true. Whenever ours needed a slight re-set, she was pleased to accommodate. Jo Turk, for me, calls to mind the qualities of character and truth. Thank you Mrs. Turk for those incredible and something painful childhood lessons

I rememberJo so fondly from Palm Beach Atlantic College. Such a supportive friend & colleague. And her lectures! Wish someone had taped some of them, so full of scholarly wisdom.

I'm so sad to hear of the death of Mrs. Turk. She was always so kind to me--through thick and thin. She worked so hard to earn her degrees while in the thick of raising her children and running a home. Incredible intellect and energy. I will remember and admire her always.
Sincerely,
Mary Beth Kerkela
