I am in shock that this great man has passed away. I first came to know him by delivering his mail at his office. My wife and I soon became patients of his, and he was super to us. He was a rare, one of a kind man. It will take some time to adjust to the fact that he will no longer be there for us. I ask God to welcome this man into His house of many halls. Susan and staff, Yvonne and I are so sorry. Praying for you.

We were among Dr. Capone's first patients. The first time I called to make an appointment for my mother-in-law, Dr. Capone answered the phone, remarking that he was surprised that I was able to get through because it was storming and phones were out everywhere. I remember thinking that he sounded like a down-to-earth person. He once told us that he did not have an expensive, well-decorated office because he preferred to put his patients first. Even though my husband was diagnosed with brain cancer several years ago, we chose to continue to see him for our routine health care. Just two visits ago, he shook our hands, telling us he had been our doctor for a long time. It felt like he was telling us goodbye; little did we know, he was. My husband's oncologist broke the news of his death to us. As my husband said, we are heartsick. We feel that we have lost not only a remarkable doctor but a friend as well. He provided us with consistent, compassionate care in his inimitable cheerful manner. When my husband was diagnosed with brain cancer, I still remember Dr. Capone's arrival in the hospital waiting room and the words he spoke to me: "Now here's your team to fight for you." Little did he realize what those words meant to me. I pray he is among the top angels in Heaven; God knows he was certainly one here on Earth, and if we could have, we would have kept him here longer with us. Our love and support to all who were fortunate to know, and love, him. Ty and Josie Willis

Dr. Capone, what an amazing man, friend, and teacher. His generosity and his passion for helping others was admirable. It was a privalege to have met Dr. Capone and I feel blessed to have had the chance to work with and learn from such a wise and knowledgeable man. I hope that you are proud of us and watching over us Dr. Capone, the sweetest, smartest, and funniest boss I have ever had. We miss you in the office.

What an amazing man he was. He was such a positive influence on many boys as the Scoutmaster of Troop 304 and helped many achieve the highest rank of Eagle including his son, Michael and my son Cody. My husband, Matt always enjoyed going away to Boy Scout summer camp with John. John would volunteer as the doctor all week in the clinic and Matt says because of that, they would always put the troop camping in the best location close to everything. The boys would not have to walk so far all week in the heat. He will truly be missed but never forgotten.

My name is Matt, and I am proud to have known Mr. Capone. I was a Boy Scout under the guidance and direction of Mr. Capone. Today, I am proud to say, that I am a Eagle Scout, and it would not have been possible without the help of John Capone. Not only would he go out of his way to help any boy in need, his skills in medicine came in handy plenty of times. He was always laughing, and picking up the spirits of everyone around him. I only knew him for a few years, but he will always have a lasting effect on me. God Bless, Mr. Capone

Dr capone was an extaordinary man. I am devastated by his passing. He was the kindest, most embracing physician. There isn't another that can live up to his legacy. My sincere condolences to his family at home and the family in the office

I am John's cousin from NY - he moved next door to us in 1966 on SI; so we sort of grew up together. We just saw him at Kate's funeral (his mom) back in March and are shocked at his passing. John cherished his entire family - he was clearly thrilled to see everyone a few months back. We are all terribly heartbroken and will miss him dearly. Sympathy/condolences to his family.
