J.R. BASSETT Obituary

BASSETT III, J.R. Taylor

of Wellington, FL died Friday, October 25th after a brief illness. He is survived by his beloved wife Suzanne Swan Bassett of Wellington and his daughter Cameron Moore and three granddaughters Tate, Avery and Remy Moore of Boulder, CO. He is also survived by his son J.R.T. (Ty) Bassett, IV and his grandson Joseph R. T. Bassett,V of Miami, Florida. He grew up in Amarillo, Texas and graduated with a degree in Mathematics from the University of Oklahoma. He was a long-time employee of the Standard Oil Company of Ohio (SOHIO) which was eventually acquired by British Petroleum. Starting out as a sales representative in 1968, he ended his career in 1992 as Vice President of Jobbers, Truck Stops and Automotive Sales for BP Oil. The family requests that contribution in his memory be made by check to the University of Miami Sylvester Cancer Center with "Trent Sarcoma Research" in the memo line and mailed to Jon Trent, MD, PhD, 1475 NW 12th Ave., #3510, Miami FL 33136. A celebration of his life will be announced at a future date.
