Kevin Molloy Obituary

Family-Placed Obituary

KEVIN CHARLES MOLLOY 1970 - 2009 For those who knew and loved him, Kevin Charles Molloy will forever be racing. The avid race car driver, husband, father, brother and friend passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2009, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was 38 years old. Kevin is survived by his wife, Erin; daughter, Parker, 5; son, Kayman, 15 months, all of West Palm Beach, FL; and sister, Collette Molloy Cattafi of Lantana, FL. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Michelle. Born on October 28, 1970, in Camden, NJ, to the late Herbert and Bernadette Molloy, Kevin was president and founder of the West Palm Beach construction firm Molloy Interiors. He learned the craft of building as a teenager, gradually becoming a well-respected and trusted partner in the local construction industry. But his true passion was found on the race track. Kevin earned his SCCA competition license in 2004 and went on to become the 2006 Champion of the South Atlantic Road Racing Championship in the T2 class, driving a 1999 BMW M coupe. He also raced with Kinetic Motor Sports in the GS class of the Grand Am Road Racing Series. A reception and celebration honoring Kevin's life will be held at Palm Beach International Raceway on Monday, August 3 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. Funeral services for Kevin C. Molloy will be held on Tuesday, August 4 at 10:30 AM at his church, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 425 North M Street in Lake Worth, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorial funds have been established for his children at Wachovia Bank, account numbers 3000154434257 and 3000154434260. Erin, I never met you,but I had great fun with Kevin racing. It was a sad day when I heard of his passing. He was a good friend and a great competitor on the track. I am the one he spoke about in the Mustang.May God give you peace and comfort at this difficult time.

Kevin was a dear friend, the brother I never had! He always knew how to make me laugh even when he was squeeing the last dime out of me on a contract to purchase construction materials! I will always remember his smile, laugh and zest for life!! Always, Terry Finnegan
