HILTON, Leonora DiPietro
Leonora DiPietro Hilton, age 98, of Jupiter, FL, since 1998, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 23, 2016. Leonora was the beloved wife of Clifford A. Hilton, who predeceased her in 1996. She and her eight siblings were raised in Fredonia, NY. She and Clifford lived down the street from each other attending the same one room schoolhouse. She was educated at Fredonia Normal School and later went on to attain multiple degrees from the University of MD. While her husband served in World War II in Hawaii, she moved to Washington, DC, took the Civil Service Test and after a brief training at the Pentagon was assigned to the Office of the Chief of Engineers. Married with two daughters, the family settled in Maryland where she was a well respected teacher in the public school system and Cliff worked as an engineer at the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission. Upon retirement, they moved to Florida. She participated in various volunteer venues such as literacy training and helping senior citizens with their tax returns. She is survived by her loving daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Louis LaFreniere of Jupiter and Linda and Fran Seeley, of Limerick, PA. She had five grandchildren, Patrick, Thomas, Paul LaFreniere of Florida, Amanda Hughes, Clifford Seeley of Pennsylvania, and seven great-grandchildren.
