Family-Placed Obituary
LILLIAN S. BERNHARD Lillian S. Bernhard of Delray Beach, FL and formerly of Pittsburgh, PA passed away peacefully into God's loving hands on April 12, 2012. She is survived by her three sons, John S. Bernhard of Seweckly, PA; Bill Bernhard, Honeoye Falls, NY; Charles Weber Bernhard Jr. (Sonny) who lives in Knoxville, TN, and one daughter, Sally Allen, who lives in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Lillian was preceded in death by her husband Charles Weber Bernhard who died on October 26, 1997. She was also wife of the late Dr. John Benjamin Green, sister of Wilma Chapin and daughter, Bonnie who also preceded her in death. Lillian's family includes 13 grandchildren; Jennifer Bernhard Clemmens, Jaylan Bernhard Pinto; John Schreiner Bernhard, Jr.; Charles Benjamin Bernhard; Casey Green Bernhard; Amanda Paige Bernhard; Amy Allen, Larie Allen, Daniel Williams, Debbie Bourbeau; Paul Avery Bernhard, Mark Elliott Bernhard, and Emily Ann Bernhard; as well as 12 great grand children. A celebration of the life of Lillian Bernhard will be held at First Presbyterian Church at Delray Beach, where she was a member, on Saturday morning, April 28, 2012 at 9:30 AM in the sanctuary at 33 Gleason St. All friends and family are invited. In lieu of flowers, and in honor of Lillian's love for teaching and for special needs children, please send a contribution in her name to: Berean Christian School - SOAR, 2329 Prosser Road, Knoxville, TN 37914. Thanks to all for your support. FYI, my mother died of pneumonia at age 93. She was well cared for - especially after her stroke in 2005. All her caretakers loved her dearly as did just about everyone my mother met. She was a wonderful mother. She told me in her last days that she wanted to go be with my Dad whom she loved dearly. Her only sister, Wilma Chapin, died on February 22. Her family and our family will gather in Delray Beach on April 28 to celebrate both of their lives in separate services. Thanks again for your support and prayers. Wishing all of you well
