Lorraine Michaelis Obituary

Lorraine Michaelis died peacefully at her home on December 4, 2020 at the age of 81. She grew up in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn, moved to Yonkers, and then raised a family in Ossining before retiring to Florida where she lived most recently at Vi at Lakeside Village in Lantana and prior to that at Valencia Lakes in Boynton Beach. Lorraine will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend to many.
She was married to Herbert Michaelis for 53 years and had three sons, Lawrence "Larry", Jonathan "Jon" and Robert "Rob". Herbert and Jonathan predeceased her. She is survived by her brother Gary, her sons, Larry and Rob, their wives, Goli and Beth, and grandchildren: Nicole, Allison, Siena and Tessa, as well as numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. Lorraine will be remembered for her constant smile, optimism, involvement in numerous charitable causes, boundless love, and devotion to family. I know Lorraine is watching and oh how I wish she could hug my son Alfonso and see how much he has grown and what a little rascal he is. I would love for her to cheer him on at his baseball games. Miss you Lorraine :)

Lorraine, I think of you all the time. You and Opie. You were a delight to be around and your love for children was obvious. I enjoyed our conversations about family and your upbringing. You were a wonderful human and stood for what you believed in. You are missed.
