Louis was our next door neighbor for a number of years, in Juno. He and Betty, as well as their children, Michelle (Midgie) and young Louis, were such great neighbors. As a young person, I knew Louis was very intelligent ( he built a bulldozer out of wood for his children to drive); it was only later that I knew just how smart he was. Peace, Louie

Lou was an upper level manager at Pratt & Whitney's West Palm Beach facility in the 1980's when I worked there. How well I remember him! He was a REALLY GOOD engineer. He would look at my blueprints, hone in on the weakness of the design, ask (loud) questions, and prod me to improve my designs. He was famous for leaving your drafting table with, "Peace," his way of saying his comments were not personal, but what was best for the product. I learned a lot from him.

Just today, as I was preparing some feedback for community youth who are working on a man-powered submarine, I thought of how Lou would phrase it. As another contributor stated, Lou's legacy lives on.

Eternal rest, grant unto him, O Lord,
And let perpetual light shine upon him.
May he rest in peace. Amen.

Lou was a huge part of my life back in 1977 when I was just 22 years old. Lou and I bought a plane together (N44194). I flew it, and Lou worked on it. Plus, I worked many a night in Lou's hanger, building one of his homebuilts, a Ganagobee. Two years later, I left to go fly F-15s in the US Air Force. Will never forget Lou. He was one-of-a-kind. To his family: Sorry for your loss, but know that the influence of his life was wide and deep.
