Family-Placed Funeral Notice
MARGARET ANN FLANDERS WILCOX Margaret Ann Flanders Wilcox, 86, a resident of The Town of Ocean Breeze Park, Jensen Beach, Florida, died July 1, 2005. She was born March 29, 1919 in Quebec. At age 13, she went to work at the Spencer's Factory in Beebe, Quebec. At age 16, she was invited to a service at the Beebe Advent Christian Church where she heard the good news of the saving grace of Jesus Christ. She gave her life to Jesus and began her new spiritual life. She also met a young man, Roger, the preacher's son, at this church. A few years later they married. Three years later their first daughter, Cynthia, was born. Five more children were born to them. Margaret was a loving and faithful wife and mother. She saw to it that her children were clean and well cared for. Roger and Margaret both knew that it was their responsibility to reach and train their children to love God. They were faithful in taking them to Sunday school, church, Vacation Bible School and Bible Camp. They resided in Vermont, Connecticut and retired to Florida. Margaret was employed 17 years as a physical therapist aide in Geer Memorial Hospital in Canaan, CT. When they retired to Ocean Breeze, she worked for Martin County Inter-Agency Council. She enjoyed a wonderful friendship with Diane Ayres and her children as she child-sat the children. She took care of an elderly lady in the park and retired again at 85. She attended First Christian Church of Stuart, FL. She was a faithful woman of prayer for her family, friends, and neighbors and hoped that all was well with their souls with Jesus. She leaves behind six children; Cynthia (& Maurice) Roberts of Stuart, FL, Ellen (& Raymond) Arel of Norfolk, CT, Persis (& Gerald Paxman) of Westfield, VT, Janice (& Michael Casey) of Stuart, FL, Royce (& Gladys) Wilcox of Canaan, CT, and Neil Wilcox of Norfolk, CT. She is survived by her brother, Leonard (& Gertrude) Flanders of Beebe, Quebec; 16 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Roger, two grandsons, a great grandson, and several nieces and nephews. Her family and friends celebrated her life on July 8, 2005 at the Curtis-Britch- Converse-Rushford Funeral Home in Newport, VT. The Reverend Melvin White officiated at her service. As she had a great love and respect for missionaries, the family requests donations be sent to Missions, c/o Dorothy Taylor, Secretary Missions, PO Box 103, Troy, VT 05868.
