MARY ELIZABETH GRAFE Mary Elizabeth Grafe (nee McCarthy) of Hobe Sound Florida passed away peacefully on May 20. She was the loving wife for 32 years of William H. Grafe Jr. “Liz” was born on June 17, 1926 in Cincinnati Ohio, and was a resident of Tequesta, Florida for almost 19 years. She attended Ursuline Academy in Cincinnati, Ohio, graduated from the College of Mt. St. Joseph with a Bachelors Degree in Chemistry and was certified as a Medical Technologist at Good Samaritan Hospital. She was a friend to all, an avid reader, golfer and a lifelong member of the Deschappelles Bridge Club. She was the daughter of the late Edward J. and Ann Meinch McCarthy. Also preceding her was her brother Edward A. McCarthy, her sister Eileen McCarthy Hittle, her late husband John B. Brodberger Jr. Liz is survived by her children: John B. Brodberger III, Elizabeth A. Wuebold (Robert), Stephen E. Brodberger (Theresa), William J. Brodberger, and Margaret A. Bastin all of Cincinnati. She is also survived by her stepchildren William H. Grafe (Pamlia), James M. Grafe, Karl J. Grafe (Donna), and Rosalind Connor. She was a beloved grandmother “Mame” to Annasara Dusenbury, Robyn, Jennifer, Mary and Bobby Wuebold, John B. IV, and Grace Brodberger, Dylan and Tory Grafe, Phillip Wesseler, and a great-grandmother to Dalton Dusenbury. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 am on Saturday May 27, at St. Jude Catholic Church in Tequesta, Florida. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association or to a charity of your choice.
