SEARCY, Matthew Martin June 8, 1983 - Dec. 19, 2017 Matt Searcy, beloved husband, father-to- be, son-in-law, son and brother, passed away at approximately 6:30am, December 19, 2017, on his way to work in Jupiter, Florida. He died instantly when a van made a left turn in front of him. Matt is survived by his loving wife, Becky, their child, due July, 2018, mother-in-law Sherry Baer, sister-in-law Ashley Baker (Sterling), niece Lylah Baker and nephew Bennet Baker, parents Debbie and Eric Searcy, sister Andrea Searcy, grandmother Christine Searcy and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. Matt is predeceased by his brother Alex, grandfather Hank Searcy, grandparents Tom and Jean Alexander, aunt Kim Alexander, and cousin Tyler Nixon. Matt and Becky resided in Jupiter, FL. He was an Air Force Veteran and was honorably discharged after four years' service as crew chief on C-130 aircraft. Matt was brilliant and earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of North Florida. He was employed by Sikorsky Helicopters in Jupiter Farms as a flight test engineer, His hobbies were surfing, diving, spear fishing, and tropical landscaping. Matt was a light in the dark and he loved all kinds of people. A dedicated husband and soul mate, he was humble, brave, selfless, and hardworking. He lent a hand to anyone who knew him. He was always capable of making any situation better for those around him. A private service was held in West Palm Beach according to his wishes There will be a memorial celebration of Matt's life this Saturday, Dec 30th from 11:00am-3:00pm at the St. Augustine Rod and Gun Club.
