Family-Placed Funeral Notice

MILDRED DICKENS DAVIES Mildred Dickens Davies, 95, of Lake Worth, FL passed quietly and surrounded by family on Sunday April 22, 2007. As a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, she will be greatly missed by those who loved her. Her husband of 60 years, the Reverend Sidney H. Davies, preceded her in death. Mrs. Davies was a life-long member of the United Methodist Church and she served with her husband in the ministry for more than 30 years. Most of those years were spent in the Florida Conference of the United Methodist Church. She and her husband became permanent residents of Lake Worth, FL in 1962. Mrs. Davies supported her husband in building Northwood United Methodist Church in West Palm Beach where they last served in the United Methodist ministry. Mrs. Davies was not only a great supporter of youth programs in the ministry, but scholarships for youth through her husband's work as a professor at Palm Beach Community College in Lake Worth, Fl. Mrs. Davies was a long standing member of the Faculty Emeritus group for PBCC. Mrs. Davies is survived by her two daughters and their husbands, Katherine (Andrew) Davis of Maryville, Tennessee and Connie (Dawson) Cooper of Everett, Washington. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Michelle Crabtree of Asheville, NC, Kimberly (Anthony) Paradise of Lake Worth, FL, Pamela Davis-Kean (Greg) of Ann Arbor, Michigan and Christopher (Robert) of Lake Worth, FL. She is also survived by two step-great grand children, Anthony Paradise, Jr. of Trinity, FL and Kaitlyn Paradise of Stuart, FL and one great-grand child, Tyler Davis-Kean of Ann Arbor, Michigan. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 26, 2007 at Quattlebaum Funeral Home 1201 South Olive Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL 33401 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 28, 2007 at United Methodist Church of the Palm Beaches 900 Brandywine Road, West Palm Beach, FL 33409. In lieu of flowers, friends may make donations to the Palm Beach Community College Scholarship Fund.
