Family-Placed Funeral Notice

PATRICIA LOUISE JONES Patricia Louise (Marco) Jones, long time resident of the Delray Beach and Gulf Stream area, passed away December 2, 2006 at her home. She was the daughter of James William Marco. Pat was born in New Jersey on April 9, 1929. She moved to Florida in the late 1940s. She was the wife of the late James Ellwood Jones. Pat was well known in the community. She has been a devoted supporter of the Bethesda Memorial Hospital working with their various fundraising programs, including the Annual Delray Dunes Pro-Am Golf Tournament. She has worked with the Delray Beach Culture Center on the “Old School Square Program” to restore the Cornell Museum of Art & History building, in which, a room has been named after her. In past years she has chaired the Delray Beach Historical Society Antique Show. Pat was a supporter of St. Joseph's Episcopal School. She taught Sunday school at St. Paul's Episcopal Church when she first moved to the area and has been a devoted member ever since. Her passions were gardening, tennis and her grandchildren. Pat is survived by her stepmother, Mary Marco of New Jersey, and her son Rod Jones and his wife Patty of Lantana. Also surviving Pat are her stepchildren James Dutcher of Ketchum, Idaho; Stanley Jones of Bloomington, Indiana; Kathy (Jones) Ammann of Nanyuki, Kenya; and Barbara (Jones) Hirvela of Paradise Valley, Arizona. Pat has two grandchildren, Hunter Jones and Cassandra Jones; four step-grandchildren, Christina (Dutcher) Carlson, Garrick Dutcher, Jeff Hirvela and Eric Hirvela; and two step-great-grandchildren, Arianna and Sophia Carlson. Funeral services will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church , 188 South Swinton Avenue, Delray Beach on Friday, December 8th at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Bethesda Memorial Hospital, Old School Square, St. Paul's Episcopal Church, St. Joseph's Episcopal School or Hospice of Palm Beach County.
