Peggy Bradshaw Obituary

BRADSHAW, Peggy Peggy Barefoot Bradshaw, age 85, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2017 at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Palm Beach, Fla. surrounded by her loving family. Born in Newton Grove, N.C. on September 21, 1932, Peggy attended Newton Grove High School, and later, Atlantic Christian College in nearby Wilson, N.C. She married her high school sweetheart, John Allen Bradshaw, on October 5, 1951 in Newton Grove. In January 1963, Peggy and John settled and raised their family in the Village of Palm Springs, Fla. Peggy worked as a Palm Springs Public Safety Department school crossing guard at Kirklane Elementary School from 1974 to 2008 (34-years), and as an Avon Lady from the early 70's until her death. Peggy truly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends; whether it was at the local American Legion club, or simply at home over a cup of coffee, she always had a smile on her face, and a story to tell. Peggy loved to play bingo and watch her "soaps;" she loved spending time at her N.C. home; and she enjoyed her nightly "doctor ordered" rum and coke, and an occasional good cigar. Peggy was an incredible daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Peggy, know that your family and friends love and miss you, and that we will one day be together again. Tell Elvis that we all say hello; and kudos Peggy for a life well done! Survivors include her husband, John Bradshaw; brother, Carlton Barefoot; three sons and daughter-in-laws, Gerall and Patty Bradshaw; Mark and Teresa Bradshaw; Timmy and Pat Bradshaw; One daughter and son-in-law, Mollie and Ron Heinle; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and too many other relatives and friends to name. She was preceded in death by her parents, Itha and Mollie Barefoot; brother, Robert Allen Barefoot; and sister, Grace Best Blake. Peggy & John

Respect is one of the greatest expressions of love, and Peggy and John have earned our respect more then they will ever know. We have had the pleasure of knowing them for over 30 years and found they are loved and respected by all who know them. Their children and family lift them up as beacons to the rest of the world, and rightfully so. If you did not know Peggy it is your loss. Peggy was an endearing friend, and a kindred spirit to my own mother who also loved Elvis Presley to no end. Her humor and mischievous behavior will be sorely missed. My personal believe is that we will see each other again. Death is not the end. Its a new beginning.

To John and the rest of the Bradshaw and Barefoot family

I remember Peggy from a visit to the home
several (or more years) ago. She was
welcoming and a good conversationalist with a sense of humor. Although John is my brother, we didn't see each other very often but I always welcomed the chance to visit the "old soil" and relatives. John took great care of Peggy and I know he must have a void but also fond memories. The Lord be with you.

Mrs. Bradshaw was an extremely kind and patient lady. The Bradshaw family was the first I met In Palm Springs after moving down from New York. Mrs. Bradshaw welcomed me and showed me great southern hospitality that I had never known. She had a welcome and calming affect when we teenagers (and you know who you are) were misbehaving. Her sense of humor in spite of our antics will always be remembered. She taught me a lot about being patient and calm.
Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.........

I've always loved Peggy and her family. She was like a second mother to us kids. Always sleepubg there or the kid's sleeping at our house. We were taken care of needless to say. Peggy always had a dish of some kind of goodies on her kitchen table, and it always smelt like home walkibg in her house. Freshly made Iced Tea Always. As i got older I'd drive by to visit her. Year's may have passed in between but it always felt like we had just saw one another the day before. Peggy had such a warm heart. I know she always took care of my brothers and me. I don't think i ever thanked her for that. But i thankyou Dear Peggy. Mrs. Peggy Bradshaw. Rest peacefully! And I love you! You will be missed. Love Lisa!

I loved Peggy and her family so much. She was a mother figure to me and her children, Tim and Molly were like my very own siblings. Living right across the street from another, we kid's always found something exciting and fun to do. I will always remember Peggy making her famous Iced Tea. After all of these years, I've finally masterd the art of it. Haha! Thankyou Peggy! You will be missed. Rest peacefully Dear Peggy! Love Lisa Green Jarriel.

Our last photo together was around this time last year when you insisted on hosting Christmas at your house. I love how even down to the last days of your life, you always did what you wanted to do. (Such as you sneaking multiple baggies of cooked bacon into a kosher recovery center). This past week has been difficult, but I'm grateful that we were all with you during your final moments. I'm going to miss your witty comebacks and bright smile Mawmaw, enjoy all those dates with Elvis up there in heaven ♡
