Family-Placed Obituary

PHILIP SHERMAN Philip Sherman, 84, passed away peacefully at home in Hillsboro Beach, FL on Saturday, September 25, 2010. Formerly residing in Yardley, PA, he was retired from and the owner of Shermet Ind., formerly Wm. Sherman & Son Scrap Metal in Trenton, NJ. Phil was a World War 11 veteran who served proudly in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany. He was one of the crewmen who helped to liberate Buchenwald Concentration Camp. He was honorably discharged from the Army and received along with the Good Conduct Medal, the American Campaign Medal and the World War 11 Victory Medal. Phil leaves behind his beloved wife of 50 years, Lilyan along with two daughters and sons-in-law, Sherri and Michael Sheerr, Penni and Robert Parker and a son and daughter-in-law, Marc and Laura Sherman. He also leaves seven grand- children who he adored and loved with all his heart, Eddie and Robbie Sheerr, Max, Alexandra and Zachary Sherman and Alec and Jessica Parker, many relatives and dear friends. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM, Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at the Star of David Funeral Chapel and Cemetery of the Palm Beaches. Interment to follow. Shiva will be observed at the Sheerr residence following Interment. Donations may be made to the Hospice of your choice.
