My condolences to the Josey Family. Hold on to God's hand, because He will never let you go. The situation is difficult but remember "weeping endures for the night, but joy comes in the morning." I have never met any of you, Polly, her mother, Ebony or Nate Jr, but there is something in Polly's smile and the light on her face that draws me close to her ~ it must be the glory of God. To Nate, Jr. I know you are a strong young man. You know where to draw your strength and then go to your quiet place and pray. Polly knows that our God will continue to take care of Nate, Ebony and Ms. Evelina and to the family rest in the assurance that Polly is resting peacefully and you will all see her one day. What a joyous time it will be!

To the Josey Family:
Losing a loveone is never an easy journey, but we who know the word of God, know we will meet them again when Jesus returns. Polly will truly be missed by her family and love ones.

August 1, 2008

It has come as a shock to me to hear of the passing of Ms. Polly Powell. I met her several years ago while living in the Lake Worth area. She was a super person and devoted parent. We traveled together years later to address juvenile issues with the U.S. Justice Department. During that trip I had an opportunity to really get to know her. She was a very soft spoken lady however, when she did speak, people listened. She was a super hero to many for her commitment to children world wide. She fought a good fight, kept the faith and finished her course. My condolences to her family. She is now a soldier in the Army of the Lord. May she rest in peace.

FRIEND!!! I never knew what that word meant until I met Polly. From day 1 we made sure each other was O.K. Imet her at work and we were like two peas in a pod. If something came up with me,I knew she was coming and if something came up with her she knew I was coming. I remember when we use to sit and eat lunch together everyday at work. I would always tell Polly that "BIG GIRLS DON'T CRY", well I can say that on July 25 this "Big Girl" broke down like noone could ever imagine.I couldn't believe that Polly, my friend, was gone.NOT POLLY!! That's all I kept saying. I am happy that Iwas able to spend her last days with her.Everything just happened so quick. As for Ebony, i just want you to know that Mrs Junne is here for you. Whatever you need, whenever you need it just call.I talked to Polly the day before she passed and she said " Junne this hurt ". I still can't believe she's gone and I still get up in the mornings waiting on my morning phone call. I know she is in a better place and she doesn't have to hurt anymore. I LOVE YOU ALWAYS AND YOU WILL BE MISSED GREATLY

My prayer and deepest simpathy goes out to the entire family. To the family be strong and trust in The Miighty God we serve and he will see you through this time pain and hurt due to the loss of a loveone as dear as Polly. I will miss her, but God gave me plenty of beautiful memories.

To Ms. Evelina and the Josey Family

Our sincere condolences to you.

Polly was a great Mother, hard worker, faithful member of the body of Christ, friend to many and a great neighbor.

We too watched her blossom and grow into a wonderful woman....

Rev 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Rev 14:13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed [are] the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.

Thank God for the rest.

As I look at the picture of your beautiful smile, I have reflections of our childhood. I looked forward to every summer in Lake Worth because I knew my playmate would be there. I once read that a jug of milk or a can of tuna has an "Expiration Date", and as christians so do we. Only God knows our " Expiration Date",and when my "Expiration Date" is up , I know that my playmate will be waiting for me. Love you always,

Polly loved God and people. Polly always kept a smile on her face, even in the midst of her tears. Polly traveled to Rome to Las Vegas to speak on juvenile justice. She was very sincere and always reached out to touch others in a spirit of love and reconciliation. Ms. Powell was very soft spoken, but when she did speak, she would bring you to tears. I conclude, family, just remember, that earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal.
