Ralph Spoelman Obituary

Family-Placed Obituary

RALPH M. SPOELMAN 'Bud' Heaven has another angel. God called our Dad home rewarding him for his many years of faithful service. Born in 1918, raised in Muskegon, Michigan. The oldest of six children born to Cornelius and Jennie Spoelman and nicknamed 'Bud'. Married in 1939 to Edith (Spahr). Devoted parents raising two daughters, Ellen Mae (Ron Walker) and Carol Marie (Mike Sharkey) and offering a loving home to numerous foster children. He was a very proud WW II Vet having served as a Rear Gunner aboard the USS Aulick earning a Victory Medal and the Bronze Star for his role in saving his ship. Retired in 1979 as Manager of ADT after 30 years of service and moved to Florida. Widower in 1986 after 47 years of marriage. When he remarried his present wife, Lodine, his family grew instantly with her seven children, Emmitt, Robert, Neal, Earl, Michael, Kathy and Linda. Between the two families, he leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great- grandchildren. He enjoyed serving the Lord in every church he attended as a Custodian, Deacon, Head Usher, Board of Director or Door Greeter. Whatever he did he did it with a smile, a hug or hand shake. By looking at him, you would never know he was 89 years old - he would have been 90 in 2 weeks. He did his own yard work, held a part-time job, drove everyday, even painted his house. He was young at heart and loved by everyone. He will be truly missed but we rejoice in knowing he is with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Public viewing will be held on Friday, December 5 from 7:30 - 9:30 PM at the Royal Palm Funeral Home, 5601 Greenwood Ave, West Palm Beach, FL 33407. A service will be held at Palm Beach Baptist Church, 6201 Military Trail, Lake Worth , FL on Saturday, December 6 at 1:00 PM followed by a burial at the Royal Palm Funeral Home, Veterans Section at approximately 2:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, a monetary contribution can be made to the Palm Beach Baptist Church in his name. To express condolences and/or make donations Visit PalmBeachPost.com/obituaries

My deepest sympathy goes out to Lodine and family on your loss. I was saddened to read of Ralph's passing. I am a Medical Assistant at his Drs. office and feel blessed that I had a chance to know him. I always enjoyed seeing him and he was a very kind and pleasant man. He will be missed. May God give you comfort and peace at this sorrowful time.

Uncle Ralph was a devout christian, a true patriot, and an altogether admirable person. He never stopped trying to make a difference, and usually succeeded. Expect heaven to be a better place now that he's there to look after it.
