Richard Lidinsky Obituary

Richard John "Rick" Lidinsky
Richard John Lidinsky "Rick" age 66, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL died March 27, 2021, at home, surrounded by his family after an evening of goodbyes and love, less than a month after he received a cancer diagnosis.
Rick was born April 30, 1954 in Berwyn, Illinois to Elizabeth Josephine "Betty Jo" and John "Johnny" Frank Lidinsky. Rick moved to Juno Beach at age 6 and spent his time fishing, surfing, boating, playing saxophone, and working at his dad's gas station, Johnny's Chevron. After graduating from Palm Beach Gardens High School, he went on to the University of Florida. He was a member of Phi Kappa Tau fraternity and Florida Blue Key.
It was at UF where Rick met his best friend and wife, Kris. Rick called Kris the charity queen as she worked and volunteered for various non-profit organizations. Rick was always being called into service to help with a cause, whether it a formal event at the Breakers or painting the staff bathrooms at Dreyfoos. He always supported her with a smile.
Rick spent most of his career in the insurance industry. He was a founding member of Palm Beach Association of Health Underwriters. He served as a board member of the Epilepsy Association of Palm Beach County and St. George's Center. He was also an avid golfer and loved his Gators.
Rick was a wonderful and involved husband, father and grandfather to his family. He showed up to help and support all of us through every athletic event, fundraiser, and milestone. If there was something that needed to be fixed, we all knew who to call.
Survived by his wife of 42 years, Kristin "Kris" Lidinsky, son Richard "Kyle" Lidinsky, daughter-in-law Whitney and granddaughters Cora Lane (3) and Lily Evanglyn (18 months) and daughter Sarah Ashley Turner, son-in-law Robert "Robbie" Turner and granddaughter Emilia Grace (3).
"G-pa" was close with all three of his granddaughters were the light of his life.
Survived also by brother-in-law, David "Dutton" Scherff, nephew Brandon Scherff, niece Savannah Scherff and sister-in-law, Renee Lidinsky and nephew Steven Lidinsky. Predeceased by his parents Josephine "Betty Jo" Lidinsky and John "Johnny" Frank Lidinsky and his beloved brother, Frank Lidinsky.
A private celebration of life will take place on April 30th, on what would have been Rick's 67th birthday. In Lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to The Children's Tumor Foundation https://join.ctf.org/team/353960 or the PBC Gator Club Lidinsky Family Scholarship Fund. https://palm-beach-county-gator.square.site/product/ScholarshipDonation/12?cp=true&sbp=false

My deepest sympathy to your family, I was so sad to learn of Rick's passing. He was a great mentor and friend to me during the time we worked at API.

Kris, I am so sad to hear you lost your best friend. Too young and too loved to be taken away from you and your family. Thoughts and prayers are with you. Hugs, Donna
