This message is for you Bud...I know you were with us in spirit last night during our ladies division cocktail party. What did you think about the standing ovation you received when I told everyone that we will be playing this year's Grandmother's Tournament in your name and honor? We are all so blessed to have known you. You are so missed by all of us. I will let you know who wins! Love, Licia

When I think of my Nan there are three words that come to mind - hope, strength, and love - All of three of these words describe her to a T. She showed so much strength through this entire ordeal and no matter how sick she was she never showed that she was, even towards the end she never wanted any of us to believe that she was sick. She always put everyone else before herself. She taught me that you shouldn't dwell on the inevitable, you should always fight for what you want, and that in order to live a full life you must find your special niche and stick to it. Even though my Nan had millions of talents the one that most stood out to me, and probably everyone that knew her would be her ability to unconditionally love someone. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, I couldn't tell you a time when she has ever let me down and I'm sure it's difficult for many people to find a time where she had let them down. A couple weeks ago I turned 21 years old, and it was VERY rare that I ever got to spend it with my Nan and Pepe, this year right before my birthday I found out that Nan was coming home on wednesday (my birthday being the sunday prior) the first thing I said to my mother was that even though she was coming home because she was so sick, it was going to be the best birthday present I had every gotten. All I wanted was to be able to spend time with her and I received that gift.

Nan has taught me many things, and I will continue to learn from her as I get older. There is one thing I know for certain, she will now be with me forever, watching over me, and helping me through any obstacles that may be put in front of me.

There are so many people that love you Nan, and you will be so greatly missed. I love you more than you could ever know, and thank you for everything you have given me and everything you have taught me <3 May you rest in the sweetest peace * Love you Nan

Mr.McDermott and Family,

I would like to offer my condolences on the loss of your wife and mother. My memories are of Mrs. McDermott greeting the golfers from the Saint Raphael Academy golf team, and their opponents, with refreshments and kind words as we "hacked" our way around the links at Pawtucket Country Club. I think it was the 13th or 14th hole where she would wave and say hello from the yard. That's all I knew of her but that was enough. She was married to the Coach and he was a good guy so she must have been as well, and she was...... RIP Mrs. McDermott

Bud was one of the best of us. She had the innate class, the intelligence, the humor, the strength that lifted her above the rest of us cousins. We all loved her - her quiet ways, her kindness. She will be missed. Francie McCann

Dear Mr. McDermott, Lisa, Meg, Jackie, Jane, and Anne, thank you so much for agreeing to let me and my mother visit with Bud the week before she passed away. This meant more to us than you can imagine. When I think of Bud, I remember how she used to mediate between me and Jackie when we were kids growing up. I used to spend many days and nights at your home on Marlaine Drive and I used to fight with Jackie to let me play with your phonebooth! I can still hear Bud's laugh in the background. She had such a great laugh. She was one of the best mediators I know. She always found the most comforting words when times were difficult. She had such an influence on my life. I will never forget her. Although my mother is not capable of expressing her own sorrow in an appropriate fashion, when I speak of Bud to her, she gets teary-eyed. She truly understands that Bud is missing from her life. She loved Bud for so many years. Bud was a great wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who always found time for everyone. We hope that you all find comfort and peace knowing that Bud is now in the hands of God. May God bless you. Love, Licia and Susan Boghossian

Dear Mr. McDermott, Lisa, Meg, Anne, Jane, and Jackie: Thank you so much for allowing me and my mother the opportunity to visit with Bud the week before she passed. It meant so much to the both of us. Bud was such a beautiful woman, both inside and out. I can still remember the days and nights I would spend at Marlaine Drive when Jackie and I would fight over who got to use the payphone first! I can still hear Bud trying to negotiate for us - she was always so great at trying to get people to see both sides of everything. She was, by far, a great wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Although my mother can't express her own condolences at this time, I know that she understands that Bud is missing now. Each time we speak of Bud, she gets emotional and teary-eyed. My mother truly loved Bud and they were the best of friends for so many, many years. I feel very blessed for having known Bud my whole life. She had a great deal of influence on me and I will never forget her.
My prayers are with you all at this time, and may you all find peace and comfort knowing that Bud is finally at rest in God's hands. Love, Licia Boghossian
