Ruth Holland Obituary

Ruth C Holland
Ruth C Holland, a beautiful soul was called home on June 29, 2021, to be with her maker and have the great joy of experiencing eternal life.
Ruth was born in Putnam, CT on March 7, 1932, the daughter of Francis and Dora Lepine. She lived most of her adult life in Webster, MA and Dudley, MA where she raised her family. Ruth moved to the Lake Worth, FL area in her latter years and developed several friendships along her journey.
Ruth was a gentle, kind, and caring person, with an infectious smile, who had a special knack for making others feel good about themselves. She always went out her way to say a kind word to someone and to acknowledge a special quality that she saw in them. Because of this, people were naturally drawn to her, and she was blessed with meeting so many people that enriched her life.
Ruth's children and family were the most important parts of her life. She tireless raised her six children and encouraged them through all their childhood activities. As her children became adults, she became a confidante to them, and each child experienced a loving and growing relationship with her.
After her children were grown, Ruth pursued her passion for dancing. It was not uncommon to find her on the dance floor somewhere enjoying life to its' fullest. She had her regular partners that she would dance with and over the years those relationships became especially important to her.
Ruth was a woman of enormous strength. She was a caregiver to several people during her lifetime, including her deceased husband, James W Holland who passed away in 2002.
She enjoyed a successful career as both a legal secretary and receptionist. Her favorite position was a receptionist for MetLife Auto & Home because she could help people that came into the office and were upset about a tragedy in their lives.
Ruth will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. She leaves behind 2 daughters Francine Haggerty of Putnam, CT and Christine Sampson and her husband, William of Sutton, MA; 3 sons Stephen Kunkel and his wife, April Johnson of Shrewsbury, MA, Michael Kunkel of Shrewsbury, MA, and David Kunkel and his wife Lucia Small of Jacksonville, FL; 4 grandchildren Jonathan Daigneault and his wife, April of Chandler, AZ, Brittany Kunkel of Shrewsbury, MA, Stephen Kunkel, Jr and his fiancé, Jennifer Grant of North Attleboro, MA and Joseph Kunkel III of Putnam, CT; 2 great granddaughters, Kalina Daigneault and Stephanie Daigneault, and her friend Phil Collette of Lake Worth, FL. She was preceded in death by her oldest son, Joseph Kunkel, Jr and her 5 siblings, Theresa Nichols, Francis Lepine, Rita Kirmil, Claire Lepine, and Paul Lepine.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday, July 6th from 3:00 to 6:00 PM in the Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home, 599 NE 15th Ave in Boynton Beach, FL. She was such an elegant and kind lady. I crafted many pieces of jewelry for her and she was always so complimentary. I will miss her at the art shows. A truly great lady.
