SHERRI MARIE NEBERGALL Age 56, of Royal Palm Beach passed away at her residence with her family by her side on March 27, 2011, after a decade-long battle with cancer. She was born on February 26, 1955 in Fayetteville, NC to parents, Gailon and the late Betty Maxson. Sherri enjoyed her life in Palm Beach County working faithfully for fifteen years as a Para-Legal for the law firm of Slawson, Cunningham, Whalen and Gaspari. An accomplished bowler, she was the secretary for the county's 225 Bowling Club. She was fond of motorcycle rides with her husband, particularly their annual trip to Key West. She is survived by her devoted husband of thiry years, Carlton; sons, Jason, Chad and Trey (Nicole); daughter, Katrina, grandchildren; Elizabeth, Addalee, Jayden, Kayden and Jordon; brother, Donnie, and sister, Debbie. Friends may visit the family at the funeral home on Thursday, March 31 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at 6:00 PM. As I sit here the day after Sherri's service, I can only think of the happy times with Sherri in our lives. Today is April 1st, but no April Fool's jokes for me today. That terrible illness has taken still another sweet soul from this earth; that phantom disease that creeps into people's lives without warning and steals them away from us all too soon. Sherri fought that battle for ten years. I do not know anyone who fought harder than she did. In all the years we knew Sherri in the bowling community, and then a few years ago when Sherri, Carl, Pauline, and John joined our Party Animals bowling league on Friday nights, she was always an upbeat and positive force. They all fit in very well with the little "family" that a few of us have managed to maintain, meeting once a week on Friday nights to forget about all of the nasty things that are going on in life all around us. That's what friends and families do. They soldier on and try to find some comfort with each other whenever possible. We will miss Sherri's laugh, her smile, but most of all her heart. She managed to fit all of us in it. Rest in peace, sweet lady. Love and peace to you and your family.

The service this evening was beautiful, as was our Sherri. I can't believe she is no longer with us! I truly believed she would never give up the fight! Somehow I just kept thinking, hoping, she would live forever. Sherri was one of the most genuine people I ever met. What you saw was what you got! I knew that no matter what, Sherri would be there to count on. If she said it was so, it was. We laughed (often), we cried (not too much), we shared life's ups and downs, deaths of loved ones, children's crises, toasts at "champagne" parties, and parties that were for women only! I will miss her terribly, for she is much loved. Jim and I talked often of her battle, her courage, her perserverance. We are blessed to have known her and counted as one of her friends, for a true friend she was.
