Family-Placed Funeral Notice

SOPHIA L. STRAYER Sophia Strayer, age 72, of North Palm Beach, Florida passed away on Saturday morning, April 8, 2006. She was born in Robbinsville, North Carolina, daughter of the late Theodore Lampropoulos and Bertha May Huffman Lampropoulos. Sophia grew up in Miami, Florida where she graduated from Miami High School, class of 1951. Sophia married Willis R. Strayer on May 20, 1954. She was a resident of North Palm Beach for the past 46 years and active in her community. She was a member of Saint John Lutheran Church, Lake Park, Florida. Sophia is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years, Willis R. Strayer; five devoted children: Michael R. Strayer, Karl T. (wife Patricia K. Millsap) Strayer, Joan L. (husband Gary) Halker, Barbara A. Strayer and Paul E. Strayer; and seven adored grandchildren: Andrew R. Frazier, Meghann M. Halker, Theodore A. Strayer, Christian W. Strayer, Zachary K. Strayer, Katherine M. Sculley and Sean P. Sculley, Jr. The family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 7 P.M., Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at Howard-Price Funeral Home, 754 U.S. Highway One, North Palm Beach where a funeral service of celebration and thanksgiving for the life of Sophia Strayer will take place at 7 P.M. Our deepest condolences to the Strayer family for the loss of your wonderful mother and wife. Sofia was the greatest neighborhood mom. She watched out for all the neighborhood kids and I am proud to say I was one of them. She taught us all what love meant. The Bie family will never forget her and she will always be in our hearts.
