Teresa LEWIS Obituary
Teresa "Reese" Lewis, Director of Marketing and PR at Official Miss GEICO Racing, passed away November 18, 2014 at the age of 51. Lewis was born November 14, 1963, in Columbus, OH and resided in Jupiter, FL. Lewis was a tenacious presence on the offshore powerboat racing circuit, and was known to those in the boating community as the original "Miss GEICO". More than that she was the ultimate family leader and the perfect example of what every mother should be. Reese joins her father Jerry Cordle, her beloved grandma Mary, her aunt Alice Bowers, and cousin Debbie Stafford. She is survived by her two children, Chelsie Gilchrist and Austin Gilchrist, her mother Shirley Cordle, and brother, Jerry "Butch" Cordle, which were the center of her world. A "Celebration of Life" service will be held on Saturday, November 22, from 12:30PM to 1:30PM at the First United Methodist Church of Jupiter-Tequesta at 815 E. Indiantown Rd., Jupiter, FL 33477. The service will be followed by a casual gathering at Square Grouper Tiki Bar, 1111 Love St., Jupiter, FL 33477. Flowers should be sent Thursday or Friday only to AMF Racing, Building A, 7555 Garden Rd., Riviera Beach, FL 33404.

I know that you Ina better place and I have my own special angel watching over me!, you were always so positive and always had the most beautiful smile on your face and it was always so contagious, that was just you no matter what the problem! From our family, we were great friends and family through all the years we spent together. We literally grew up together, or tried growing up. She always kept in touch even after my mom (Josie Albritton) passed. She truly cared about us and valued what we enjoyed together during this life. I never got to meet Reese but every time I see a picture or read a comment about her it leaves me with the goosebumps. I studied the GEICO team for my BA in design all the way over in the UK. It was awesome to study not only a team that was ahead of the game but a team that was close on many levels and that was purely from images and articles. I had the pleasure of getting to know her very briefly while in Key West at the beginning of this Month. She was bubbly, full of energy and not once did her smile disappear. We talked about both being mid west girls and stories about our children. She expressed how proud she was of her children and the unconditional love they gave her. We took a ton of pictures, sang and laughed on the boat ride home from Boca Grande. She filled my heart with kindness. We also talked about all the friends she had lost and how she still missed them every day. That short time with her reminded be of how amazing living life is. She will truly be missed by all who loved her, and knew her in any aspect. If for a minute or for a life time. Reese you were a genuine girl. Thank you for giving me the pleasure of having this memory. We have all gained a guardian angel!!

Reese, although we only met a few times, you were always friendly. You were probably one of the busiest, happiest, brightest persons I've ever met. When the name Reese was spoken, heads turned. Everyone knew who you were. You had more things going on behind the scenes than most know. You touched many lives with just being you. The outpouring of love on your FaceBook page since you went home is incredible. People could only hope to be 1/4 of the type of person you were. Shine bright in Heaven as you did here on earth. If a grey, white and black furry dog with one blue and one brown eye comes up to you, her name is Molly, she was the love of my life. I told her to look for you and to protect you. Reese you will be missed by so many people that you have touched. I will never forget our last encounter at the nail salon you were getting ready for the Clearwater race and I was going to PA to visit my parents . Our conversation was one I will never forget , you mentioned we should get together for drinks that it would be fun and I said that would be great. Unfortunately, we never did have those drinks.
