Herminia Rodriguez Obituary
HERMINIA RODRIGUEZ
On September 22, 2025, our family said goodbye to our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, Herminia (Rangel) Rodriguez "Minnie", who passed away peacefully at the age of 82.
Born in Santa Rosa, Texas, she lived with her family until she was 16 and met the love of her life, Gregory Rodriquez Sr, when he whisked her away with a Crush soda. While our hearts are heavy, we are comforted knowing her love, laughter, and joy will stay with us always.
Minnie was the heart of our family. She had a way of making everyone feel at home, whether it was through her warm smiles, her home-cooked meals, or the way she took care of everyone who came into her home. She could always make you feel like the most loved person in the world. She loved baseball, football, and going to the casino, and she never missed a chance to share those passions with her children and grandchildren.
She taught us the importance of family, of kindness, and of finding joy in the little things. Her legacy isn't found in material things, but in the memories she created, the laughter around her table, and the unconditional love she gave so freely.
She leaves behind her beloved husband, Gregory Rodriquez Sr., daughters Becky Monrreal and husband Oscar Monrreal, Rosalie Ragan, Maria C. Ramirez, and husband Juan Ramirez. Son Gregory Rodriquez Jr, wife Maria Rodriquez, and son-in-law Alfred Villareal. Grandchildren: Lance Wood and wife Makayla Wood, Christina Vales and husband Rafael Vales, Felicia Rodriquez and husband Jared Paul, Savannah Carpenter and husband Aaron Carpenter, Gregory Rodriquez III and wife Leticia Ramirez, Ashley Ragan Alva and husband Jaime Alva, Amanda Ragan and husband Andres Torres, Kristie Monrreal, Michelle Monrreal, Audra Alvarado, and Mercedes Ramirez. Great-grandchildren, Christopher and Rylie Vales, Caitlyn and Pablo Ortiz, Carleigh Vales, Camreigh Vales, Aria Paul, Levi Monrreal-Nash, Kali Monrreal, Kash Monrreal, Christopher J Monrreal Jr, Alexander Cardona, Dallyce Wood, Jagger Wood, Eden Wood, Alina Torres, Arianna Cortes, Adrienne Cortes, and Anthony Cortes. Great great grandchildren Waylon Vales, Mateo Ortiz, and Hazel Wood, who will continue to carry her love forward in everything we do.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Pedro and Francisca Rangel, her daughter Rachel Villareal, son-in-law Paul Ragan, granddaughter Laura Villareal, grandson Christopher Monrreal Sr, and grandson baby Juan Ramirez Jr, who went before her, and we find peace knowing she is reunited with them.
A celebration of Minnie's life and a Rosary will be held from 6-8 p.m., Thursday at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home. We invite all who knew and loved her to come share stories, laughter, and tears as we remember the beautiful life she lived. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m., Friday, September 26, 2025, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
She will be forever missed and forever loved.
