PETER BRENNAND ROBINSON
Peter Brennand Robinson, also known as "Peterbilt Pete", passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas, surrounded by family and close friends. He was 78 years old.
Pete was born to Louella Sadau on October 7th, 1946, in Fort Worth, Texas. Pete married the love of his life, Sarah G. Hawk, on February 3, 1968, in El Paso, Texas. Together, they raised their daughter, Brandy.
Pete was preceded in death by his mother, Louella Sadau; parents, Phillip and June Robinson; mother and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. L.A. "Sonny" Campbell; grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Grover Hanna.
From an early age, Pete exhibited inner strength and fortitude as a premature infant who spent his first few weeks of life in a shoebox by the fireplace at his maternal grandparents' ranch house in Loving, Texas. His first interest in trucking presented in childhood while hauling bulls with his tricycle and attached red wagon across the wrap-around front porch of the ranch house.
Pete explored a broad range of work endeavors in his lifetime, earning the title of cowboy, corrective farrier, heavy equipment operator, and most notably, a legendary bull hauler. Known on the road as "Peterbilt Pete", he unveiled a striking appearance to other bull haulers from behind the wheel of "Alfalfa," his timeless, green 1981 Kenworth W900A. Alfalfa wasn't just a truck; she was a rolling symbol of Pete's grit and character. Pete devoted 58 memorable years to hauling livestock across the United States, covering over 6,400 loads. Pete held great pride in his most honorable achievement of having arrived late on only two occasions across his career.
Pete embodied a strong work ethic and virtuous character; a man who could reliably and skillfully finish the job, regardless of any setback. Pete was known for his expertise in loading and unloading cattle, often receiving rare approval from ranchers to allow his trusty companion, Rusty, into the cattle pens to assist with the loading process. Haulers alike admired Pete for his knack for finding the perfect route, his reputable nature, and his ability to make any journey memorable. Pete deeply cherished the relationships he built with other haulers and always had a story to tell about his travels. Pete was a true legend on the road whose impressionable memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched throughout his lifetime.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, June 28th, 2025, at the Palo Pinto County Sheriff's Posse Arena. 1300 FM 1821, Mineral Wells, Texas, 76067. The family invites you to join together in celebration of life to honor Pete by bringing your "big rig" to the venue on this day.
