Walter Laroy "Humphrey" Goin

Walter Laroy "Humphrey" Goin was born on January 6, 1936, in Blythe, California, and passed away on September 13, 2025, at Abrazo Arrowhead Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Lois Joyce Downs Goin; his son, Richard Corey Goin, and granddaughters Kaily and Lauren; his daughter Rhonda Carey Goin Youso and her husband Scott, and grandchildren Dionna, Jessica, and Shane; and his daughter Rene Cathlene Goin and grandsons Kyle and Nickolas; as well as many great grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose generosity and quiet strength touched countless lives.

A graveside memorial service will be held on October 3, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Palo Verde Cemetery in Blythe.

Walter loved the outdoors-deer hunting, fishing, camping, skeet shooting, racing, and so much more. He spent 20 years working at the Kaiser Mine in Eagle Mountain before retiring and purchasing the Roadrunner Market in Quartzsite, Arizona, where his wife still resides.

He loved Blythe and Quartzsite deeply, treasuring the lifelong friendships he built in both communities. Known for his kindness and open heart, Walter never turned anyone away who needed a helping hand or simply an ear to listen. He instilled strong values of hard work, integrity, and compassion in his children and grandchildren, creating a legacy that will carry on through them.

Walter will be remembered not only for his hard work and adventurous spirit but also for the love, guidance, and laughter he shared so freely with those around him. His family and friends will forever cherish the memories and lessons he leaves behind.
