Andy delivered both of my children! I always knew when he was coming to the exam room I was in because he whistled all the way down the hall! He was always calm, patient, happy and smiling! Those 10,000 plus babies that he delivered and their parents were lucky, indeed to have Andy take care of them for 9 months!
Rest in peace Dr. Patel...you deserve it! My heartfelt sympathy to his family!

May I first say, my sincerest sympathy to the family for your loss. Dr Patel was the best of the best from my first pregnancy in 1974 until the last in 1986. Seven children including twins, he saved my life after hemorrhaging, the loss of a son hours after birth. Dr Patel lived a wonderful and deserving life and his kindness will be forever remembered. Bless you, for the Dr you were.

A true friend, a loving husband and father, an oustanding, compassionate p hysician Andy was
a special person. Barb, Jay and Sheila I share your loss. We. Roasted Andy on his 50th birthday and noted that typically an immigrant came to the US with nothing and worked his way up to middle class-Andy came from the
Upper class and worked his way down to middle class!!
Andy loved his family and always
said how supportive Barb was to him.
I have many memories of Andy and

I had the honor of working with Dr Patel at the old Brokaw/BroMenn hospital in Normal, Illinois from 1981-1998, as one of his labor and delivery nurses. He was one of a kind! Always respectful to his patients and nurses! We knew he was on the floor when we heard his whistle coming down the hall! He had such fun and colorful surgical caps, which made his patients smile! Of those 100,000 babies he delivered...I am proud to say that 2 of them were my daughters! He was the best!
Rest in peace, Dr Patel!
My deepest sympathies to your family!

I loved Dr Patel! I worked with him from 1981 to 1986 at Brokaw Hospital and we knew he was coy for a delivery because you could hear his whistling! He was also so an irate in predicting which sex the baby was ( this was before all the ultrasounds) Andy would wear either a pink themed hat for deliveries or a blue hat!! Praying for his family! He was a great man!

I´m so sad to see of Dr. Patel´s passing. He was a wonderful person and had such an intuition as to what was happening with his patients. So many times he would call me just as I was going to calling him to report information. We talked and rehashed all the years a couple of years ago and it was such fun! The good old days he said!! Praying for comfort for you Barb and your family
