Betty Marie Brooke

FLANAGAN - Betty Marie Brooke, 76, died on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Goldwater Care Center of Pontiac.
She was born on December 2, 1947, the daughter of Arvin and LaVerne Placek Ruff, in Omaha, NE. She married Charles Oliver Brooke, Jr., in Omaha, NE. He died March 9, 2002.
Betty is survived by her children: Tracy Farley, Gary Brooke, Julie Brooke (Archie Wright), Leland (Angela) Brooke. She has 13 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She was the sister of Judy Ruff and Patty (Tom) Taylor and a sister-in-law to William, David, Patsy and Robert. She was an aunt and friend to many.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; her parents, Arvin and LaVerne; her son, Samuel "Sam" Brooke; and her grandson, Connor McIntosh.
Betty was a school bus driver for over 30 years. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting afghans for family and friends, doing various crafts, bird watching with her grandchildren, and baking and decorating cakes for family events.
Visitation will be held Thursday, August 22, 2024, from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Minonk. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 23, 2024, at the funeral home with visitation one hour prior to service. Burial will follow at Minonk Township Cemetery. Family is encouraging attendees to wear red and white for her team, the Nebraska Cornhuskers, or their favorite team jerseys to the events.
Memorial Contributions can be directed to the Salem4youth Children's Home in Flanagan, or to Flanagan Community Church in her memory.
