Connie Kay Salyer
March 5, 1943 - September 7, 2024
GOODFIELD - Connie Kay Salyer, 81, of Goodfield, died at home under hospice care on Saturday, September 7, 2024, surrounded by family.
Born March 5, 1943 to William and Dorothy (Haecker) Honeg in Eureka, Connie graduated from Eureka High School and married Robert Reeser in 1962. He died in 1968. She married Farrel Salyer on August 17, 1973. He died on their 42nd wedding anniversary in 2015.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, William Honeg Jr. and Richard Honeg.
Surviving is one sister, Saundra Nance (Dr. J. Zink) of Santa Clarita, CA, and two children: Lisa (David) Zobrist of Goodfield, and Lance (Amy) Reeser of Eureka. Also surviving are grandchildren: Tara and Adam Ott (Remielle and Talon) of Eureka, Jayme Zobrist and Tim Dunaway (Garrison and Willa) of Columbus, IN, and Paige Reeser of Peoria.
Throughout her life, Connie always preferred outdoor chores over inside and was extremely proud of mowing her own lawn at 81 years old and living independently.
Connie held many jobs during her life, but she found the most joy being a daughter, mom, and grandma. Connie was affectionately known as "Granny" to everyone who knew her. She spent every moment she could with her grandkids. She always said yes to a sleepover and loved cheering on her grandchildren's sports teams from the stands.
She enjoyed listening to her music, watching a good western, and chatting with family and dear friends. Granny maintained her sense of humor until the very end and looked forward to being reunited in heaven with the love of her life.
In accordance with Connie's wishes, a short graveside service will be held October 2, 2024, at Olio Cemetery in Eureka at 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Just Friends Adult Day Services in Columbus, IN, or the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation. Condolences and tributes can be sent to family at www.argoruestmanharris.com.
