Dean Wettstein Obituary
December 11, 1945 - January 7, 2025
Dean E. Wettstein, 79, of Eureka, IL, passed away on Tuesday January 7, 2025, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born on December 11, 1945, in Washington, IL to Joseph and Rose Weishaupt Wettstein. He married Mary Jane Schlipf on March 4, 1973, in Eureka, IL.
Surviving is his wife, Mary Jane Wettstein of Eureka; his daughter, Alicia (Dan) Endress of Morton; and one sister, Donna Lou Wettstein of Eureka. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother.
Farming was important to Dean, and it brought him joy to be a caretaker of God's creation for 62 years. It also gave him much pleasure caring for his livestock and hauling gravel for his faithful customers. He enjoyed trucking for local grain elevators and various businesses.
He met many special people in his collecting of antique John Deere tractors. He also enjoyed going to Siesta Key, Florida, in the winter where he made many special memories with special friends and family. Dean was a loving husband, father and friend and will be greatly missed.
He attended Roanoke Apostolic Christian Church where funeral services will be held at 10 am on Monday January 13, 2025. Church ministers will officiate. Visitation will be held from 1 to 4 pm on Sunday at Knapp-Johnson-Harris Funeral Home in Roanoke and from 9 to 9:45 am on Monday prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka or Roanoke Apostolic Christian Church. Condolences and tributes may be sent to the family at knappjohnsonharris.com.
