Dexter Smith Obituary
January 2, 1949 - January 31, 2025
Dexter "Dex" Smith, 76, of Baileys Harbor, WI, formerly of Normal, IL, passed away January 31, 2025 at his home. Born on January 2, 1949, in Bloomington, IL the son of Don and Eugenia (Reid) Smith. Dex was the owner of Don Smith Paint Co., originally started by his father, Don, in Bloomington. He and his wife, Lauri moved to Baileys Harbor January 2017.
Dex is survived by his wife, Lauri; children, Justin (Missy) Smith, Ashly Smith, Stacey (Corey) Sharp, and Ryan (Jayla) Willis; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; siblings, Sharon Abbott, Timothy Smith, Jeff Smith, and Cha Smith.
Dex chose cremation as part of his wishes and a celebration of life will be held April 30, 2025 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Davis Lodge, Lake Bloomington.
