Donna (Maaks) Bruno, 91, passed away on September 21, 2025 in Bloomington, Ill.
Donna was born on December 5, 1933, in Mason City, Ill.; daughter of Fritz and Mable Marie (Erdman) Harnacke. She grew up alongside her beloved sister, Anne.
She married Charles Allan Bruno in 2007, with whom she shared many cherished years. He preceded her in death on January 16, 2025.
Donna worked for many years as a bank teller and also at the post office. Outside of work, she cultivated a rich and joyful life. A Master Gardener, she found great pleasure in nurturing beauty from the earth.
She loved to travel, especially with her sister Anne, and was always ready to dance with the Senior Sidekicks. One of her greatest joys was dancing to the music her husband Chuck played, a treasured part of their life together.
Donna will be remembered for her grace, her adventurous spirit, and the love she shared with those around her. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
A graveside service for Donna will be 11 a.m. Tuesday September 30, 2025 at Richmond Grove Cemetery in New Holland, Ill. with Pastor Robert Twist Officiating.
Services are entrusted to Calvert Metzler Memorial Home in Bloomington, Ill.

Donna was an amazing lady. I met her as a fellow Master Gardener. She was always smiling. She was lovely and always ready to help. She will be sorely missed. RIP beautiful Donna.
