Jeanette Ruth Barrett, 99, of Bloomington, with family by her side, passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Martin Health Center, Bloomington.
Her memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at St. Patrick Church of Merna, Bloomington with Rev. Dustin Schultz officiating. Private family burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Bloomington. Visitation will be for one hour prior to Mass at church. Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington is assisting the family.
Jeanette was born March 13, 1926, in Bloomington, daughter of Victor and Mary Wolff Dietz. She married Lewis Barrett on February 6, 1948, in Chicago. He passed away May 3, 2014.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Robert, and all of her siblings, four brothers and six sisters.
Surviving are her daughters, Kathleen (William) Kenny, Keswick, VA and Shirley (David) Wilson, Bloomington; daughter-in-law, JoAnn Barrett, St. Augustine, FL; six grandchildren, Matthew (Pratiksha) Barrett, Atlanta, GA, Alexandra Barrett, Jacksonville, FL, Dr. Barrett (Zoe) Kenny, Madison, WI, Casey Kenny, Miami, FL, Jenny (Joseph) Yoder, Normal and Lesley (Derek) Price, Bloomington; three great grandchildren, Claire and Hannah Yoder, Normal and Miles Price, Bloomington.
Jeanette graduated from Bloomington High School and was McLean County Clerk for 21 years, retiring in 1998.
She was a much-loved wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be forever missed.
