Margaret Nugent Obituary
March 11, 1957 - July 12, 2025
Margaret "Peggy" Anne Nugent, age 68, of Bloomington, Ill., passed away peacefully on July 12, 2025. Born in Laona, Wisc., and raised in Chicago, Peggy was known for her deep kindness, generous spirit, and unwavering devotion to family and community.
She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved sons, Michael (Samantha Shultz) and Kevin (Alexandra) Pohlmann; her grandchildren, Tucker, Kathryn Margaret, August, Theodore, and Penelope; her siblings, Richard (Denise) Nugent, Marybeth Cremin, Kathy Nugent, Laurie (Randy) Odzer, and Carol (John) Paral; her former husband and friend, James Pohlmann and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will take place at St. Cajetan Church in Chicago on Friday, July 18, 2025 from 9 to 11 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. All services will conclude after the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation in honor of Peggy. https://www.hazeldenbettyford.org/.

I will always remember Peggy's excitement during the holidays when the boys would set up their train sets. The tracks didn't just go around the Christmas tree but the trains traveled throughout the house! Peggy (and the boys) would invite all of the neighbor kids and a few extras to experience this holiday extravaganza! (All of this long before the Polar Express!) We would take up all of the chairs with our feet tucked under us so as not to disturb the oncoming trains! Peggy, you had a wonderful gift of including all of the kids in your creative adventures! Peggy was always quick with a smile, welcoming and friendly. I enjoyed her Christmas parties and sharing time with her friends. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. God's speed Peggy.
