Marilyn Lee Scogin

October 27, 1937 - August 5, 2025

Marilyn Lee Scogin, age 87, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born October 27, 1937, in Heyworth Ill., to Marshall and Beulah Miller.

On May 26, 1956, in Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., Marilyn married the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Jerry Scogin. Together they shared a life full of love.

Marilyn grew up in Heyworth, Ill. and graduated from Bloomington High School in 1956. She worked at Beich's Candy for many years as a secretary and was an expert in typing and shorthand. She later worked at Country Companies and retired in 2006. She had a big heart for dogs and cared for many over the years. She loved drinking coffee, especially at Dunkin Donuts, enjoying chocolate anytime, watching Blue Bloods and listening to Elvis. More than anything she loved her family and treasured the time spent with them.

Marilyn is survived by her sons, Ronnie (Gail), Rick (Julie) and Randy (Jodie); grandchildren, Chrissy (Chris) Allen, Jeremey (Christina), Andrew (Alexis), Cody (Krystle), Cole (Elli), Tessa, Bree, Shandi, Emilee (Victor), Luke (Lisa), Zack (Angie), Jakob (Kailyn); granddaughter-in-law, Krystal; great-grandchildren, Logan, Sydney, Ronan, Addy, Mason, Liana, Molly, Jenna, Sloane, Grey, Harlan, Teddy, Lili, Sofia, Melina, Junior, Ali, Mason and Isaac; sister, Betty Shannon; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by parents; husband; grandson, Tim Scogin; sisters, Doris Morris, Joyce Erdman, Mildred Bicknell, Sally Miller; brothers, Billy Miller and Sid Miller.

My grandmother lived near her family. I remember she sent her little boys over with a May basket for gramma.
