Donald Bowman Obituary
July 28, 1944 - February 28, 2025
Donald 'Don' Bowman, 80, passed away on February 28, 2025 surrounded by his family.
A visitation will be held on March 6, 2025 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Forbis and Dick - 1118 North Elm St., Greensboro, NC. A celebration of his life will be held March 7, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. at Forbis and Dick - 1118 N. Elm St. in Greensboro followed by a graveyard service at Lakeview Memorial Cemetery at 3 p.m.
Don was born in Denver, Colo. however traveled to many states with his family before settling in North Carolina. He was in the Army, stationed in Germany in the 60's. He obtained his associates degree in the electronics field at Randolph Community College. He worked many jobs, including as a Disc Jockey, in HVAC counter sales and after retiring worked several years in the deli at Food Lion. He was active in scouting from 1978-1985 as an Assistant Scoutmaster and was inducted into the Order of the Arrow. He loved woodworking, reading, music, being outdoors, traveling with his wife and was proud of his ever-growing family.
Don is predeceased by his parents, Donald Charles Bowman and Edith Bowman.
Surviving the family is his beloved wife Debra of 40 years; his three sons, Eric (Sarah), Chris (Glenda), Kevin (Krystal); his two daughters, Dana, Kim (Bryan); nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends and family at the home of his daughter at 5451 E NC Hwy 150 Browns Summit, NC 27214 following the services on Friday.

I was saddened to hear recently of Don's passing. Heartfelt condolences to and prayers for the family. I have great memories of experiences we had in the Boy Scouts with Don serving as assistant scoutmaster; I appreciated his leadership, appreciation for nature, love for family, and genuine concern and commitment to all the scouts he served while a scoutmaster.

I met Don in Atlanta in 1968. When he came back to Greensboro I got him a job in radio. He was a great person to know and to work with.

I have many fond memories of talking to Don at work. I enjoyed hearing stories about his life.
