NORMAL - Mary Baldwin Jones, age 95, of Normal, IL, passed away at 6:27 AM on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Carle BroMenn Medical Center, Normal, IL.

Her funeral service will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at Second Presbyterian Church, Bloomington, IL. Rev. Trey Haddon will be officiating. Burial will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington, IL. Visitation will be 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at Second Presbyterian Church, Bloomington, IL. The family suggests memorials be made to Second Presbyterian Church, Bloomington, IL.

Arrangements are being handled by Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, IL.

Mary was born July 13, 1929, in Frankfort, IN, the daughter of Harry A. and Alice Gretchen Baldwin Gunion. She married Paul Herrin Jones on November 15, 1953, in Frankfort, IN. He passed away May 20, 2013.

Surviving are her two children: Bryce Jones, Normal IL, Angie Jones, Gurnee, IL; granddaughters: Sara Eilers, Scottsdale, AZ, Becky Eilers, Minneapolis, MN; and one sister, Betty Heimlich, West Chester, PA.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Helen Blinn, Pat Starkey and one brother in infancy.

Mary was a member of Second Presbyterian Church, Bloomington, IL. She graduated from Indiana University with a bachelor's degree in music. She received her master's degree from the University of Illinois in Special Education. Mary taught at Danville Elementary School, Danville IL for 16 years and later she taught at Bloomington School District 87 for over 24 years. She was avid Indiana Hoosier's sports fan. Mary enjoyed reading and spending time with family and friends.
