BLOOMINGTON - Morris M. (Chris) Christensen, 90, of Bloomington, Ill., passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Martin Health Care, Bloomington.

Chris's service will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Normal First United Methodist Church, Normal, Ill., with Rev. Kathy King-Nobles officiating.

Following the service, military honors will be held by the Bloomington/Normal American Legion Honor Guard at the church.

His Graveside service will be held at Noon at Funks Grove Cemetery, McLean, Ill.

The family suggests memorials to be made to the Normal First United Methodist Church.

Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, Ill., is assisting the family with arrangements.

Chris was born as the son of James and Josephine (Robinson) Christensen on April 11, 1935, in Clarks, Neb. He married Carolyn L. Hile on October 16, 1960, in Russell, Iowa. She preceded him in death.

Chris is survived by his children: Jill Christensen, Centennial, Colo., and Brian (Beckie) Christensen, East Peoria, Ill.

Also surviving are his grandchildren: Kylie (Eddie) Kahle, Rochester, Ill.; Paige (Matt) Marino, La Mesa, Calif.; Andrew (Morgan) Christensen, Lincoln, Neb. and Rachel Ledesma, Crested Butte, Colo., along with his great-grandchildren: Quentin, Lucy, Carter, Miles, George and Noah. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.

After high school Chris attended Browns Business School. He served in the US Army at Fitzsimons Army Hospital and was a member of Normal First United Methodist Church. He worked for State Farm Insurance Company for 42 years, retiring as an Internal Auditor. He received the CPCU designation during his career.

Chris was an avid Nebraska Cornhusker and St. Louis Cardinals fan, reader and an outdoor enthusiast. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bird watching, gardening and taking care of his fruit trees. He also enjoyed playing Bridge and Poker at the Senior Center.

Chris will be deeply missed by his family and friends who knew and loved him.
