Patsy Parsons Obituary
September 19, 1940 - December 29, 2025
Patsy D. "Pat" Parsons, age 85, of Bloomington, Ill., passed away peacefully at 1:33 a.m. on Monday, December 29, 2025, at Martin Health Center in Bloomington.
Visitation will be held from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home in Bloomington, Ill. A funeral service will follow at 3:30 p.m., with Pastor Matt Wilcox officiating. Private inurnment will take place at the First Presbyterian Church Columbarium in Normal, Illinois. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Pat was born on September 19, 1940, in Decatur, Ill., the daughter of Earl and Wilhelmine Kolak Dizney. She was united in marriage to Jerry R. Parsons on December 9, 1967, in Cowden, Ill. Together they shared many years of love, partnership, and devotion. Jerry survives.
Pat was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She is survived by her children, Evan Parsons of McKinney, Texas, and Jennifer (Ken) Florence of Carlock, Ill.; and by her cherished grandchildren, Patrick Parsons and Marlee Parsons of Frisco, Texas, Megan (Hunter) Lanstrom of Normal, Ill., and Nicholas Florence and Olivia Florence of Carlock, Ill. Her family was the center of her life, and she found her greatest joy in time spent with them.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved sister, Thelma Louise Dizney.
Pat was a graduate of Decatur Eisenhower High School. Over the years, she worked at the Decatur Herald & Review, Springfield Electric, and later at State Farm Insurance, where she was employed in Health and Life Claims. Pat approached her work with quiet dedication and care.
A faithful member of First Presbyterian Church in Normal, Ill., Pat valued her faith and church community. She will be remembered for her kindness, gentle spirit, and the steady love she gave to those around her. Her warmth, strength, and devotion to family will leave a lasting legacy. Pat will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
