Richard C. Stine, 81, of Bloomington, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at The Arc at Normal.
His memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Calvary Baptist Church, Normal, Illinois. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am at the church. Cremation rites have been accorded by East Lawn Funeral Home, Bloomington, Illinois. Inurnment will take place at East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington, Illinois at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 1017 N. School Street, Normal, Illinois, or Ministry and More, 1107 W. Empire Street, Bloomington, Illinois.

He was born September 10, 1944 in Bloomington, Illinois, son of Charles R. and Violet K. (Anderson) Stine; his parents and one sister, Nancy Rae Lehmann have preceded him in death.
Surviving are one brother, Linc (Deborah) Stine, Maplewood, Minn., and one sister, Kay Verros, Arden Hills, Minn.; nieces and nephews, Konya Ives (Vanessa MacCallum), Klayton Ives (Christina Whitis), Tara Matkaiti, Kevin Matkaiti (Erin Nichols Matkaiti), Eben Stine (Anna Light), and Aaron Stine (Ashlee); his aunt, JoAnn Pritchard, Normal, Illinois and a very special cousin, who helped care for him, Jim Anderson, Bloomington, Illinois. Also surviving are a host of other cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Richard worked as a custodian in the Bloomington-Normal area, last working for Country Financial before his retirement. While working, Richard became a master at navigating the Connect Transit bussing system for his work travels and frequently stopping at Target to eat his lunch.
He was a long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church, Normal, where had many close friends and a supportive community. Richard enjoyed attending bible studies at his church and loved singing while in church.
Richard also loved watching TV game shows, word search puzzles and drinking a diet pepsi. He will be fondly remembered for his joyful smile and his love for people.

I remember Richard from The Marc Center. He was always smiling and happy. I am very sorry to hear of his passing. May he rest in peace in the arms of Jesus. May his family be comforted by God with peace.
