BLOOMINGTON - Rick L. Stone, age 76, of Bloomington, passed away at 8:22 a.m. on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at his residence.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A private graveside service will be held at a later date with Rev. Gretchen Stinebaugh officiating.
Memorials in Rick's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the Gary Sinese Foundation.
Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Rick was born on January 26, 1948, in Amarillo, TX. The son of Wilbur and Aldine (Holmes) Stone. He married Terry Beck on December 27, 1969, in Pontiac, IL. She survives in Bloomington, IL.
He is also survived by his daughter, Tara (Richard) Lee of Hermosa Beach, CA; one brother, Jerry (Linda) Stone of Pontiac, IL; sisters-in-law: Harriet Cochran of Graymont, IL, Sharon (Dee) Hamilton of Heyworth, IL, Dottie Gschwendtner of Pontiac, IL; brother-in-law, Richard (Fran) Beck of Bloomington, IL. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Dan Stone; in-laws, two brothers-in-law, and one sister-in-law.
Rick attended Pontiac Elementary and High Schools. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He served in Vietnam, where he received a Purple Heart and Navy Commendation Medals for his service.
Rick was employed with R.R. Donnelley for 36 years, holding various positions throughout the United States and South America. He retired in 2006 as a Group Senior Vice President of Operations.
He was named a Kentucky Colonel for his volunteer work with the Kentucky School for the Deaf. He was a member of Veterans Foreign Wars, American Legion, and Fort Myers Elk's Club in Florida.
He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Terry, I am saddened by the loss of your husband, Rick. I did not know him , but he was a fine contributor to his community. i'm sure you you will have wonderful memories of your lives together. I have fond and happy memories of my time growing up with you and your family and friends. It is fun to see you are all surviving and together. Please be well, and find peace and comfort.
