BLOOMINGTON - Steven Barry Nixon, 64, of Bloomington, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Carle BroMenn Medical Center, Normal, with his son, Brett at his side.
He was born on May 25, 1961, in Mattoon, Illinois, to Barry and Martha Kuykendall Nixon.
Steven is survived by one son, Brett Steven Nixon of Bloomington, Illinois. Also surviving is his mother, Martha Traxler of Bloomington, Illinois, and several aunts and cousins.
Steven was preceded in death by his father, Barry Nixon.
Steven was a graduate of Bloomington High School, and attended Glendale Community College in Glendale, Arizona. He worked as a Union Carpenter and later, developed his own business.
A private family graveside service will be held at the Blue Ridge Township Mansfield Cemetery, Mansfield. Illinois with Pastor Dave Jassman officiating. Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Farmer City is in charge of arrangements.
