Thomas Moore Obituary

Thomas "Max" Moore

November 26, 1947 - November 25, 2025

Thomas "Max" passed away peacefully with his wife, Pam, by his side on November 25th, 2025, in Avon Park, Florida. Even though his cancer was considered in remission, the disease and its treatment had left him too weak to fight an unknown infection during his last week.

He was born on November 26, 1947, to Audrea Jean and James Moore in Easton, Maryland. He grew up there on their dairy farm until his sophomore year in high school when the family moved back to Fairbury to be closer to their roots. He graduated in 1965 from Fairbury-Cropsey high school.

He was preceded in death by his older brother, Robert Moore. Surviving are his wife, Pam; brother, Dan (Arlene) Moore in Gaylord, MN; sister, Sandy (Bill) Ingram in Churchill, TN; sister, Pam (Dave) Soper in Fairbury; son, Chance Moore with granddaughter, Livia in Pontiac; and daughter, Brienne (Chris) Rudesill in Bloomington.

Max lived to golf and earned 10 holes-in-one over his career. Two were at Indian Creek in Fairbury, and eight were at Crystal Lake Club in Avon Park, FL, where he and Pam wintered since 2009.

When golfing season ended, he could be found in a combine working the fields of the Traub family who treated him like one of their own.

He was also an excellent dancer. He met his wife at a dance in Bloomington in 1999, and together they danced through life for 25 years.

A celebration of his life will be held in Florida on January 4th. Another will be held in Fairbury when he and Pam return in the Spring, date not yet determined.

Donations may be sent to Indian Creek Golf Course, 7429 N 2200 East Rd., Fairbury, IL. 61739
