David Russell Moore

David Russell Moore, 78, of Griffin, husband of Sue Smith Moore, died Sunday, February 16, 2026, at Atrium Health Navicent in Macon.

Born in Erie, PA, November 2, 1947, he was a son of the late Delbert Alfred Moore and Mildred Kelly Moore. He was a US Marine Veteran having served for seven years. Mr. Moore and his wife formerly lived in Cape Coral, FL, where he owned and operated Moore Painting. He later retired from Viacon Cabinet Shop after over fifteen years of service. He was an avid fisherman and bowler until his health declined.

Mr. Moore was a member of West Sunnyside Community Church where he was formerly very active in the Men's and Women's Ministries and was a Media and AV Specialist.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Lamkin.

Surviving in addition to his wife of fifty-five years are a brother, Delbert Moore and wife Beverly of Palmetto, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for David Russell Moore will be conducted Thursday, February 19, 2026, at 3:00 PM at West Sunnyside Community Church with Reverend Richie Thompson officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at West Sunnyside Community Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 2:00 PM until the service at the church.
